Community Group Websites
The Ki Federation of Great Britain required a website to promote the Federation headquarters, the affiliated clubs throughout the UK and their international affiliates. The Federation has extensive training courses running throughout the year and required a website that could feature the events enabling good search functionality for their members.
The website includes membership functionality, events management and a club directory. The magazine style layout, enables the key attributes of the Federation to be featured on the home page alongside their latest news on events and activities from both the federation and the affiliated clubs.
The integration of social media with the website has enabled the Federation and their clubs to build an active online community for the website and Facebook.
The Federation's goals were to build a knowledge base of Ki Aikido for existing members and also to attract new members to their affiliated clubs. Since the new website launch, website visitors are up 20% and numerous clubs have attracted new members. The keyword research has resulted in significant acquisition from search engines and social media and the bounce rate is at the lower end of the industry standard for a content based website.
Ian Walters from the Ki Federation of Great Britain:
Our old website was static, outdated and ineffective in attracting new members. Realising that we urgently needed to revamp our internet presence, we turned to Ecoportal for help. They designed a shiny new website for us with links to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Google+. Ecoportal also provided invaluable support and guidance on managing the website and promoting ourselves through the internet. The new website has been very favourably received and has resulted in a step increase in memberships and enquiries from potential members.
